“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

I love the idea of a Dr. Seuss theme birthday party! There are so many fun options and it's a gender neutral theme. Also great for twins' birthday (Thing 1 and Thing 2). I'm considering doing this theme for Zane's 2nd birthday in September, but also thinking about a Spongebob theme because he just loves the show. I've already gotten the whole Seussical theme thought out so I wanted to share!
Invitations:
This is the part I struggled with most, but I found a lot of good ideas for invitation wording.
Invite 1
Invite 2
Invite 3
Invite 4
Or you could always just buy some pre-made!
Decorations:
Now I myself don't like to worry about decorations too much. Between the food and activities there's already so much to prepare, but you definitely want to set a fun mood for your guests. I would simply place any Dr. Seuss books around the house, any plush characters you may have, and maybe some balloons and streamers. You pick the colors and have fun with it. I would even dress up the special boy or girl as a Seuss character or ask your guests to come dressed up as different characters ahead of time or wear Seuss appropriate attire, that way you don't have to worry about decorating but it's still Seussical everywhere you look.
Menu:
"Green eggs and ham"
I found this great recipe for ham and cheese sliders.

Pair these delish sliders with some Green Deviled Eggs. These are made simply by using your favorite recipe for deviled eggs and adding green food coloring, and maybe some blue also, until you get your desired shade of green.

Goldfish from Cat in the Hat.
Goldfish Crackers served in fish bowl and maybe even use a new and cleaned fish net for serving. This idea could also be used for a party favor, save the goldfish until the end and let the children scoop a few scoops into a plastic bag, like the ones used for fish in the pet store.
"Poodle's Noodles"
I planned on making a homemade mac and cheese
using rotini pasta, to give the "curly" effect of
 poodles fur. :)
"Pink Ink for the Yink" (Strawberry Lemonade)
"this one, I think, is called a Yink.
he likes to wink, he likes to drink.
He likes to drink, and drink, and drink.

the thing he likes to drink is ink.
The ink he likes to drink is pink.
He likes to wink and drink pink ink.
SO...
If you have a lot of ink,
you should get a Yink, I think."--

And finally my favorite part of the menu. Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes

I seem to prefer cupcakes over traditional birthday cake because I feel like they are so much easier to personalize and get creative with. Plus, you don't need to worry about cutting and serving the cake, each guest can just go and grab their own. A small cake for the birthday boy or girl to blow out candles on could always be included. I suggest making that a different flavor for any guests who may not prefer the flavor of cupcakes made.

Some fun activities:

Tongue Twisters: Take your favorite tongue twisters from Seuss' books and put them in a "Cat in the Hat" hat. Have kids stand in a circle and take turns pulling out a tongue twister and enjoy the giggles and fun!

Pin the Star on the Sneetch: Remember the Sneetches?! In this game, you'll need a little art skills. Do your best to draw a large sneetch and then cut out some stars for the kids. Write the name of each child on their star and roll a little piece of tape on the back of each star before handing them out.Or you could also just go purchase some star stickers and give each child a different color. Then play game as you would play Pin the Tail on the Donkey! You could make this idea work with just about any of the characters to personalize it to your or your child's preferences.

My final idea is just a simple and quiet game. Read the book If I Ran the Zoo to the kids and then give everyone a set of crayons and a piece of paper and ask them to draw what the zoo would look like if they were in charge! You could do this activity without reading the book as well, it's up to you.

I came up with all these ideas off the top of my head and I'm sure if I wanted I could come up with many more. Have fun with it and use your imagination!

I hope you enjoyed all of my ideas and I'd love to hear some of yours! Have a great day.
